Independent Personal Wealth Manager
Kathy Jones-Price is an independent personal wealth manager who has been in the financial planning industry for 25+ years. Kathy works with a select group of successful professional couples and individuals.
Kathy is a twice graduate of the University of Utah. She graduated in 1975 with a B.A. in English, Magna Cum Laude, and then she completed the Executive M.B.A. program in 1986 and graduated as a Dean’s Scholar.
She complimented her education in the financial planning industry by obtaining the CFP® designation through the College of Financial Planning in Denver, Colorado. CFP® is a certification mark owned by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. These marks are awarded to individuals who successfully complete the CFP® Board’s rigorous initial examination and ongoing education, experience and ethical requirements. She later obtained the Chartered Financial Consultant designation and the Certified Life Underwriter designation from The American College, Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Kathy is a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals and The Financial Planning Association.
Serving the community is an important part of Kathy’s life. She is currently a member on the Investment Advisory Committee for the my529 Plan, formerly known as the Utah Educational Savings Plan. Kathy also completed a term of over eleven years as a board member of the Utah Retirement Systems, including three years as Board President. URS is the pension plan and defined contribution plan for Utah public employees, with assets over $45 Billion. The URS Board also oversees the Public Employees Health Plan (PEHP).
Kathy has a long history of serving her community and charitable activities. She is a past member of the Utah State Money Management Council. She served on the University of Utah Alumni Association Board of Trustees, the University of Utah Planned Giving Advisory Committee and the Primary Children’s Medical Center Planned Gifts Committee. She was a member and former President of the Utah Planned Giving Roundtable.
In her leisure time, Kathy enjoys running, Pilates and music. She and her husband, Harry, are the proud parents of a son, Xavier, who recently graduated from Weber State University, with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Finance and a minor in Economics. Xavier joined a large financial company after graduation and lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Kathy and Harry reside in Park City, Utah.
